Game Day Glam

Yay for football season! Gah, we missed those days of dressing up in our maroon and gold (GO SUNDEVILS!) to show off our school spirit. There are so many cute and fun ways to be game day glam so you can stand out from all of the other fans. First, head to Michael's Craftstore and snag some rhinestones. Deck your game day shirt with rhinestone bling and you will definitely catch people's attention. Buy fabric in your school's colors and cut them into strips. Tie each strip to a simple head tie and eventually it will be a cute ring of fabric on the head tie that you can tie onto your hair or even use as a fun form of a bracelet. You just can't go wrong buying eyeshadow and lip stick in your school colors. Colourpop is the absolute best site to snag the lipstick as their lip products are $5 {talk about a secret steal!}. Buy some fun accessories to throw around your neck like beads and pom poms to wave that you can get at Party City, Oriental Trading Company, or Stumps.

Whatever you do, get all decked out and rep your team to the fullest!

5 Cute & Easy Ways to Gift Wrap this Holiday

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

We still cannot believe that all of the upcoming December holidays are around the corner! That means it is time to brush up on our gift wrapping skills. Gift wrapping doesn't have to be limited to pretty pre designed wrapping paper like the ones you find at the Dollar Tree, Target, or Walmart. Get creative this year using things around your home like cardboard boxes, feathers, tulle, ribbon, scrapbook paper, and the list goes on! Paper Source and Michael's are our absolute favorite places to shop for unique paper and craft items. Above we have chosen some of our favorite gift wrapping looks. Try them out and show us your best gift wrapping looks by hashtagging #TSSGiftWrapping.

Now, get to wrapping those gifts!

P.s. If you REALLY can't wrap if you're life depended on it, many malls and department stores offer complimentary or with donation gift wrapping.

Ali's "I Do" Diary: Bridesmaid Proposal Boxes

Craft Supplies: Michaels

Here comes the bride... and it's our very own TSS Co-Founder, Ali!  Yes that's right, Ali and her honey Jon are tying the knot in May of next year, and we will be documenting their journey along the way.  We love weddings, and Ali is beyond excited to share her tips and ideas with all of our readers.  And yes, we will be there when they share their "I do's" too!  For other brides-to-be or those dreaming of their big day, we hope that we can provide a little dose of wedded inspiration!  We are thrilled to announce Ali's "I Do" Diary column... take it away, Ali!

Ali's "I Do" Diary: June 19, 2013.
Little girls dream of planning their big day with their prince charming, and I am so lucky to have found the man of my dreams.  Now that we've set a date and started putting our plans together, I needed to do something else that was very important-- ask my best girlfriends to stand by my side!  My wedding day wouldn't be complete without the girls (and sorority sisters) that I've shared my favorite memories, laughs, and cries with too.  Because they mean so much to me, I wanted to do something special when asking them to be my bridesmaid.  So, I decided to "pop" the question!

I'm a bit of a Pinterest fanatic, so naturally I went right to Pinterest when looking for bridesmaid inspiration.  I came across a few ideas involving Ring Pops, and I knew it was the perfect way to ask my girls!  Sweet, creative, and a little silly, it described what I was going for perfectly.  I headed straight to Michaels with my color scheme (light pink) in mind, and got down to crafty business!

I used natural cardboard gift boxes, scrapbook paper, rubber stamps, stickers, pink paper shreds, gift ribbon, and of course the key ingredient- Ring Pops.  Double sided tape made for an easy (and less messy) adhesive to attach the scrapbook paper to the boxes.  Testing out the rubber stamps on some scrap paper first was helpful to get a system down just right.  Once I put the boxes together, I tied them with a bow, and voilà!  An adorable little bridesmaid proposal box was complete!  I added a personal note with each box, and sent them on their way.  Hearing each of their reactions was priceless; I'm so happy to have asked my bridesmaids to be a part of our special day in a creative way!

I can't wait to share more bits and pieces of our wedding planning with all of you!  More to come soon!

DIY: Valentine's Day Cricut Craft

Product: Cricut Mini

We do not think we're too old to still be sending out Valentine's Day cards {wait, maybe we are??}. Store bought Valentine's Day cards are cute and all, but there is something so much more sentimental about creating handmade cards. This weekend, Karen got a head start on her Valentine's Day cards with the Cricut mini. We are obsessed with the Cricut mini for DIY projects because you can design whatever you want on the Cricut mini's online application and then the mini machine will cut it out for you! Couple your cutout design with pretty pearlized and patterned paper, ribbon, glitter and other embellishments from craft stores like Michaels. Cricut, along with Michaels, offer project sections on their site where you can experiment with a lot of different creations others have produced using the Cricut...so cool!

What do you think of Karen's handmade creation?
